Motorola enthusiasts have been waiting eagerly for the release of the vanilla version of the Motorola Edge 40. The wait may be over soon as a recent leak reveals that the Moto Edge 40 has passed the Geekbench benchmark, providing us with some of its key specs and suggesting that its launch date is drawing near.
Motorola Edge 40 vs. Motorola Edge 40 Pro
Earlier this month, Motorola introduced the Motorola Edge 40 Pro to the international market. The Edge 40 Pro comes with the Qualcomm flagship CPU, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. However, the newly leaked Geekbench benchmark reveals that the vanilla version of the phone will have a MediaTek CPU. Specifically, the phone features MediaTek’s MT6891Z_Z/CZA SoC, which is similar to the Dimensity 1100. The phone achieved 1,105 points in the Single Core test and 3,542 in the Multi-Core department. The phone will run Android 13 and have 8 GB of RAM, but other variants with different RAM and storage configurations are also expected.
Motorola Edge 40 Alleged Specifications
The Motorola Edge 40 is rumored to come with a Dimensity 8020 chipset, but the chipset on Geekbench suggests otherwise. Regardless, the Edge 40 is expected to have a 6.55-inch pOLED display with Full HD+ resolution, up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage, and a 4,400 mAh battery with 68W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. The phone will also feature a primary 50 MP camera with OIS, a 13 MP ultrawide shooter, and a 32 MP selfie unit. Additionally, the phone will have an in-display fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, and an IP68 rating. The Edge 40 will come in Nebula Green, Lunar Blue, Eclipse Black, and Viva Magenta colors.
