Samsung unveiled Powerful Exynos W930 Chipset to Fuel Galaxy Watch 6 Series

,Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Watch 6 series is set to be powered by the Exynos W930 chipset, as per recent reports. The Bluetooth database certification revealed the model number S5E5515 alongside the name W930. Interestingly, this model number matches the W920 used in the previous Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 5 series, suggesting that the W930 will offer improved performance while keeping the same underlying hardware.

The Exynos W930, built using the advanced 5nm process, supports Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi connectivity. However, the certification specifies the need for an additional RF chip to ensure a complete Bluetooth + Wi-Fi solution.

The existence of the previously rumored W980 remains uncertain. It is possible that the W980 was just a temporary name, and the final chip will be named the W930. Alternatively, there is a slight chance that the W980 is a higher-end system-on-a-chip (SoC) still in development. An even less likely scenario is that the W980 will power the Galaxy Watch6 Pro, while the W930 will be used for the standard Watch6 model.

Samsung is scheduled to unveil the Galaxy Watch6 family on July 26, alongside the introduction of OneUI 5 Watch, which is based on Wear OS 4. This highly anticipated series will mark the return of the beloved rotating bezel, enhancing user experience and interaction with the smartwatches.
