The Galaxy Z Fold6 features a more compact and slightly wider design

Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold6 at the Galaxy Unpacked event in Paris on July 10, 2024. The new foldable phone introduces several notable improvements over its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold5.

The Galaxy Z Fold6 features a more compact and slightly wider design, enhancing the usability of the cover display. This new form factor aims to address past criticisms regarding the narrowness of the outer screen, making it more practical for one-handed use. The device is also lighter, weighing 239 grams compared to the Fold5’s 252.3 grams, and includes a more durable hinge and a 10% stronger “Armor Aluminium” chassis.

Under the hood, the Fold6 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform, paired with 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage. It runs on Android 14 with Samsung’s One UI 6.1.1. Camera improvements include a 50MP primary sensor, a 12MP ultrawide lens with enhanced low-light capabilities, and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. The device also supports 25W fast charging for its 4,400mAh battery.

Samsung has also integrated new AI features into the Galaxy Z Fold6, leveraging its flexible form factor to provide unique mobile experiences. The phone is available in several colors, including Silver Shadow, Pink, Navy, Crafted Black, and White  (Samsung News) .

   • The phone is lighter, weighing 239 grams compared to the Fold5’s 252.3 grams. It also includes an improved dual-rail hinge and a 10% stronger “Armor Aluminium” chassis, making it more durable and able to better withstand shocks and pressure .
