Google Pixel 8 Receives WPC Certification for 12W Wireless Charging

So, Google is expected to announce the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro in October. Ahead of the launch, the Pixel 8 has received approval from the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC). Revealing its fast charging capabilities.

Google Pixel 8 WPC Certification

The WPC certification confirms that the Google’s Pixel 8, with model number GKWS6, will be known as the Pixel 8 in the market. However, it won’t support the latest Qi2 wireless charging, opting for the older Qi wireless charging standard (version 1.2.4).

The certification also reveals that the Pixel 8 will support 12W wireless charging, like its predecessor, the Pixel 7. The listing includes an image of the device, which closely resembles the previous model.

Reports indicate that the Google’s Pixel 8 will have a 6.16-inch OLED panel with a Full HD+ resolution of 2268 x 1080 pixels. The Pixel 8 Pro, on the other hand, will feature a larger 6.7-inch OLED panel with curved edges. Both devices will be powered by the Tensor G3 chip.

The Pixel 8 Pro is rumored to come with a Samsung GN2 camera, boasting a 50-megapixel resolution and a built-in thermometer for measuring body and object temperature. Further details about the Pixel 8 series are still unknown.

The upcoming launch event is expected to introduce the Pixel Watch 2 as well. Reports suggest that the new smartwatch will feature the Snapdragon W5 generation chip, offering improved battery life and performance compared to its predecessor.

As the launch date approaches, anticipation builds around the Google Pixel 8 series and the Pixel Watch 2. Tech enthusiasts and Google fans eagerly await further announcements and details about these highly anticipated devices.
