iPhone 15 Series: Latest Leaks Reveal No Physical Button Design, Thinnest Bezels, and More Upgrades

Apple’s iPhone 15 series is not due for launch anytime soon, but online leaks have already given us a sneak peek into some of the expected changes. From an all-new design to camera upgrades, there are several exciting features rumored to be introduced in the next generation of iPhones.

Here’s a rundown of all the leaked upgrades and features that may be coming to the iPhone 15 series.

Solid-state haptic button design

One of the most significant design changes expected in the iPhone 15 Pro or the iPhone 15 Pro Max is the elimination of physical buttons. Instead, we could see a solid-state haptic button design with the ultra-high-end models. This new feature would offer users the sensation of pressing buttons through Apple’s Taptic Engine without any actual buttons.

The company plans to incorporate a small motor inside the device to create vibrations, which will provide haptic feedback to users when they press the button, letting them know that the command has been acknowledged. Currently, iPhones only have one Taptic Engine that offers feedback when tapping on the display. The next-generation iPhones could get additional engines for the new button design. Similarly, the mute switch may also get a touch-based design, just like the volume buttons.

Thinner bezels

While the new iPhones are expected to retain the same display sizes, the iPhone 15 series is rumored to come with a thinner bezel design compared to the iPhone 14 series. This will offer a more streamlined look and more screen space to users.

USB-C port

Apple has already confirmed that it will ditch its proprietary Lightning port and launch iPhones with USB Type-C ports. However, it is unclear whether the same will be implemented on this year’s iPhones. Leaks suggest that the iPhone 15 series will come with a USB Type-C port, making it the first iPhone to feature this port.

New cameras

The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models are expected to come with 48-megapixel cameras, similar to the Pro models of the iPhone 14 series. This will be a significant upgrade from the 12-megapixel sensors seen on existing iPhone models. However, the standard models may not have a telephoto lens for optical zoom or a LiDAR, as these features may remain limited to the higher-end models. The leaks suggest that we could see a new periscope lens with 5x optical zoom on the upcoming high-end units, but details about the Pro models are currently unknown.

Other features

The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max may come with Apple’s new Bionic A17 chipset, while the standard model could use last year’s Bionic A16 SoC, which is powering the iPhone 14 Pro models. It is unclear whether Apple will also launch a new version of the Plus model introduced last year, as reports suggest that the iPhone 14 Plus did not receive a good response in terms of sales.

As of now, there is no information available about the battery and fast charging for the new iPhones.

In conclusion, the iPhone 15 series is expected to bring significant upgrades in design, camera, and other areas. While these are only leaks and rumors, they do give us an exciting glimpse into what Apple may have in store for us in the next generation of iPhones.
