Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra to Launch with Next-Gen EV Battery Technology for Longer Battery Life

Samsung, a well-known smartphone manufacturer, is set to release its latest flagship phone, the Galaxy S24 Ultra, and it is highly anticipated by tech enthusiasts worldwide. The Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to come with significant upgrades over its predecessor, the Galaxy S23 Ultra, including improved battery life, thanks to a next-gen EV battery technology.

EV Battery Technology:

Samsung’s battery manufacturing division is exploring a new battery stacking technique inspired by the electric vehicle (EV) industry to enhance the energy density of small batteries for various consumer electronic devices such as smartphones, tablets, and notebooks. This new technique involves tightly arranging battery components, such as cathodes and anodes, to achieve higher energy density.

According to recent reports, Samsung’s SDI division, responsible for developing and producing Li-Ion batteries, is partnering with two Chinese firms to implement this stacking method for producing Gen 5 batteries intended for electric vehicles. This technique is predicted to improve energy density by more than 10% compared to the traditional winding method, where battery materials are rolled into jelly rolls and placed in cans.

Expected Upgrades in Galaxy S24 Ultra:

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to come with numerous upgrades, offering users an even better experience than its predecessor. The phone is anticipated to feature a 144Hz refresh rate display, promising users a more fluid and responsive experience.

Running on One UI 6.0, based on Android 14, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to offer users the latest software advancements. The device is also rumored to feature the unannounced Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC from Qualcomm, ensuring improved performance and power efficiency.

Furthermore, Samsung is expected to equip the Galaxy S24 Ultra with 200-megapixel sensors, featuring better zoom capabilities, offering users a top-notch photography experience.
