So, Samsung has been making waves in the tech industry with its ongoing work on Android 14. Despite the official release of the latest Android version still being a few months away, Samsung has already begun testing early internal builds of the update on its Galaxy S23 devices, as well as its Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4. In fact, evidence of Samsung’s testing was recently spotted on its servers by @tarunvats33 and other Twitter users.

So, what is One UI 6.0, and what can we expect from it? Here’s what we know so far.

The Early Testing of One UI 6.0

The early internal builds of Android 14 on Samsung devices are expected to be called “One UI 6.0” and have been spotted on Samsung’s servers carrying firmware version S918BXXU1BWE2 for the Galaxy S23 Ultra, F936BXXU2DWE1 for the Galaxy Z Fold 4, and F721BXXU2DWD7 for the Galaxy Z Flip 4. The fourth to last digit of the firmware version number indicates a new big One UI update.

Samsung’s Focus on Improving Background Apps

While there is not much information available yet on what new features One UI 6.0 will bring, it is confirmed to address longstanding issues with background apps on Galaxy devices. This is great news for Samsung users who have been experiencing problems with background app management.

Android 14 Features on One UI 6.0

One UI 6.0 is also expected to borrow some features from the Android 14 update that Google unveiled at its I/O conference. While it is not yet clear which features will make it to One UI 6.0, Android 14 introduced several exciting features, including a new design language called Material You, privacy enhancements, and new messaging features.

Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Android 14

The Galaxy S23 series and 2022 flagship foldable phones are expected to be the first to enter the Android 14 beta testing program later this year and could be the first to receive the stable One UI 6.0 update. Furthermore, leaks have suggested that Samsung is already working on its upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 5.
