Samsung Galaxy Smart Tag2 Set to Launch at Samsung Galaxy Unpacked Event

So, Samsung is set to launch the Galaxy Smart Tag2, the successor to its Galaxy SmartTag, at the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event in July. The Galaxy SmartTag was first introduced in 2021 along with the Galaxy S21 series. Later, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy SmartTag+, which featured Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and ultra-wideband (UWB) technology. Now, the Galaxy Smart Tag2 has been spotted on the Bluetooth SIG certification website, indicating its imminent release.

The Bluetooth SIG certification confirms that the Galaxy Smart Tag2, with the model number EI-T5600, will support Bluetooth v5.3. However, specific details about the device’s specifications are still unknown. The launch date remains a mystery as well, but it is expected to coincide with the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event, which will take place at the end of July. This event will also feature the introduction of the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Buds 3, and the Galaxy Tab S9 series.

The Galaxy SmartTag, part of Samsung’s SmartThings ecosystem, was introduced last year. It comes in two variants: one with Bluetooth LE 5.0 support, compatible with any Galaxy device, and another with UWB technology, which works with the S21+ and S21 Ultra models. The SmartTag can be attached to any object for easy tracking. Priced at $29.99, it includes a replaceable CR2032 button battery.

The SmartTag+ combines BLE and UWB technology into a single device. It features a single button that allows users to perform custom functions through the SmartThings app. The SmartTag+ is priced at $39.99.
