Apple Working On Affordable Vision Pro Headset: Leak Says

So, according to a report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is developing a cheaper version of its Vision Pro headset, set to hit the market around 2025. The current price tag of $3,499 makes it inaccessible for many consumers, as the Vision Pro is not intended for mass adoption.

The report suggests that Apple initially considered delaying the announcement of the Vision Pro’s price due to negative reactions. However, the company decided to give people nine months to get accustomed to the idea.

The upcoming headset, possibly named Vision or Vision One, will aim for wider adoption by offering a more affordable option. Apple may achieve this by using lower-cost screens, less powerful chips, fewer cameras, or by requiring users to have AirPods for spatial audio.

Despite the cost-cutting measures, Apple intends to keep key features such as the external EyeSight screen and the hand-tracking system.

The budget-friendly Vision headset is expected to be released in 2025, alongside the development of a second-generation Vision Pro model.
