Nothing Unveils Phone 2: No Plans for Foldable Smartphone, CEO Confirms

So, Nothing, the smartphone brand, recently unveiled its new Phone 2 for the global market. This device is the successor to their previous model, Phone 1. However, despite their unique smartphone offerings, Nothing has no plans to release a foldable phone.

So, Carl Pei, the CEO of Nothing, confirmed in an interview with India Today that they are not interested in launching a foldable smartphone. Also, Pei believes that this type of device is only for a small group of consumers and does not appeal to the general public. He thinks that foldable smartphones are being forced onto people who don’t really need them.

Pei also stated that most foldable smartphones look the same to him. He mentioned that if you remove the logos, it would be hard to tell them apart. Several major smartphone companies, including Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi, and Motorola, have already released foldable devices.

Interestingly, there are rumors that OnePlus, another popular smartphone brand, is planning to launch its first foldable smartphone soon. This contradicts Pei’s statement about foldable devices being niche.
